Welding - Tool steels
Tool steel welding is often needed for die-casting dies, large forging dies, plastic moulding dies, and car body dies. It can also be needed for blanking tools in cases such as a repair or an engineering change, where welding can be done more cost-effectively than producing new tooling.
Typical reasons for welding tool steels are;
- Refurbishment and repair of cracked or worn tooling
- Restoration of chipped or worn cutting edges
- Adjustment of machining errors in tool making
- Design changes.
